How DARE you! What are you too lazy to type Christ-- ?? Lol, jk, but you SHOULD, out of plain respect for the Lord, spell it as Christmas...unless maybe if you don't beleive in God, then it may be alright but still.

X is a symbol for Christ, began in the first century AD.... just as the fish sign does. That's used to this day to. Disrespect.... not really it's just another way to say Christ. Lazy, uhm you got me there, HOW DID YA KNOW? LOL ;D

Thanks Yohommie! And as for the 'X-mas' thing, I do kinda find that disrespectful to the Lord IF you beleive in him which I'm guessing you do. Seriously though, if you're going to talk about CHRISTmas then at least write CHRISTmas and not X-mas. Besides, it's only 5 letters more, that shouldn't take too long to type, lol.

LOL.. Hallmark didn't make it up!.....In 1436 Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press with moveable type. In the early days of printing typesetting was done by hand and was very tedious and expensive. As a result, abbreviations were common. In religious publications, the church began to use the abbreviation C for the word "Christ" to cut down on the cost of the books and pamphlets. From there, the abbreviation moved into general use in newspapers and other publications, and "Xmas" became an accepted way of printing "Christmas" (along with the abbreviations Xian and Xianity). Even Webster’s dictionary acknowledges that the abbreviation Xmas was in common use by the middle of the sixteenth century, and as we all know the church had a big part in what could and could not be written back then. If you broke the church rules , you got the bad end of the stick or worse! IT's the history books that say so, not me Yes i do beleive in Christ, nor would I ever disrespect the name. Anyhow, MERRY CHRISTMAS and PEACE to all! ;D

I know about the Gutenburg guy. And I know he started the X-mas thing. When I said Hallmark© made it up I made a mistake I thought you said something else! Sorry! But X-mas is beggining to become a term for un-religious people. Christmas of course started because of Jesus, but than companies turned it into this Santa thing with this guy coming down your chimeny and giving you presents (even though Saint Nick is a real saint). Because of this Xmas thing un-religious people are actually celebrating Christmas now, thinking just because it doesn't contain Christ, than it has nothing to do with religion!

I do know about the whole printing press bit but, dude, it's 2006 now, lol. It doesn't cost more money to type 'Christ' now, lol. But whatever, at least you said it correctly now! lol! To avoid further confrontations like this don't be lazy and type da whole thang, lol.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! YOHOMIE, CHANGE YOUR NAME! Lol.
